One person sustained a minor burn injury and was treated on scene
The Vancouver Fire Department responded to a residential fire in East Vancouver Thursday afternoon.
At about 1:30 p.m. Thursday (March 3), Vancouver firefighters responded to the report of a residential structure fire at 819 SE Olympia Drive. The first unit arrived in approximately three minutes and reported a large volume of fire showing from the garage of a two-story house with fire extending to the second floor and attic space. Homeowners on scene stated that all occupants were out of the house and accounted for. Crews immediately began conducting exterior firefighting operations.
Once additional resources arrived, units were sent inside the home to finish extinguishing the remainder of the fire and check for fire extension.
It took 21 firefighters approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control. Several units remained on scene for about an hour conducting salvage operations and checking for hot spots.

The Vancouver Fire Department was assisted by American Medical Response and Camas-Washougal Fire Department.
The Red Cross was on scene assisting those affected by the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office.
