A total of seven Vancouver Fire units responded to the scene with a total of 20 firefighters
Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department were able to quickly extinguish a fire on New Year’s Day.
At 4:48 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 1), Vancouver Fire was dispatched to the report of a house fire at 6102 NE 113th Ct. in Vancouver. The first crew on scene arrived within five minutes. Crews took command of the scene and spoke with the residents to make sure everyone was out of the house and safe.
Four other units arrived at almost the same time and extinguished the fire eight minutes after the first engine arrived. Crews searched the structure to verify everyone was out. Then several companies worked to remove the smoke and helped to save personal items.
A total of seven Vancouver Fire units responded to the scene with a total of 20 firefighters. The Clark County Fire Marshal responded to the scene to investigate.
Vancouver Fire officials would like to remind everyone to make sure your smoke detectors are functioning properly and have an evacuation plan for events like this.
