Up to $1 million in community development, housing grants available in 2018

Mandatory pre-applications are due by Nov. 16

VANCOUVER — The City of Vancouver estimates there will be up to $1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding available for local projects in 2018.

Detailed application guidelines and a link to the online application will be available at www.cityofvancouver.us/cdbg on Mon., Oct. 16. Mandatory pre-applications are due on or before 5 p.m. Thu., Nov. 16. Final applications will be due on or before 5 p.m. Wed., Jan. 10, 2018.

Funds will be available for construction, acquisition, and rehabilitation of housing or public facilities, services, economic development and tenant based rental assistance targeted to benefit low and moderate-income areas and families. Local governments and nonprofit organizations and agencies may apply.

The city will hold an optional informational workshop for interested applicants Mon., Oct. 30, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Aspen Conference Room in City Hall (415 W. 6th St). City staff will review the application guidelines and the online application process at the workshop.

Funding decisions will be made by Vancouver City Council in May 2018. Funding awards and contract negotiation will occur between July and October 2018.
