Shooting in north Clark County results in homicide investigation and arrest

Deceased male shot and killed in Amboy Wednesday night identified by family member as Andrew Dickson

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has made an arrest in an apparent homicide that took place in north Clark County.

On Wednesday (Dec. 15) at about 9:11 p.m., CCSO patrol deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call of an assault with a weapon at 43118 NE Cedar Mist Road. Deputies received information that someone known to the shooting suspect had been shot inside the residence.

It was discovered by patrol deputies an adult male had been shot in the torso. The suspect in the shooting was on scene and detained without incident. Life saving measures were administered to the shooting victim by medics. The male victim was transported to the hospital and later died as a result of his wounds sustained in the shooting. 

The identity of the victim has not yet been released by the Clark County Medical Examiner. However, an immediate family member has identified the man as Andrew Dickson. 

CCSO Majors Crimes Unit and Tactical Detective Unit responded to investigate. It was discovered Joshua George Spellman, 32, had shot Dickson during an argument. Spellman was booked into the Clark County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree.

This is a homicide case actively being investigated by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Majors Crimes Unit. 

At this time, there are no further details to release.
