Drivers should take an alternate route during the closure and adhere to posted detour signage while in the project area
VANCOUVER – Regular drivers along Northeast Munch Road from Northeast 414th Street to Northeast Cedar Creek Road will need to take an alternate route while crews work on a road safety project. Work will begin Monday (July 18).
Drivers should take an alternate route during the closure and adhere to posted detour signage while in the project area. During construction, local access will be maintained for residences and emergency vehicles.
The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately six weeks. However, closure start and end dates are weather dependent. Portable changeable message signs will be placed five days prior to the start of the closure.
This safety and roadway preservation project will include guardrail installation, sight distance improvements and roadway preservation. Guardrail will be installed in areas where there is a steep shoulder on the roadway. Sight distance improvements will include removal of a rock face and the lowering of the vertical hump in the road, the northern leg of the intersection at Northeast 414th Street. There will also be an application of an asphalt overlay to enhance safety, maneuverability and longevity of the road.
