“The more funding success our local organizations have, the more our community benefits. These projects yield value for current residents and, many times, generations to come,” said Kraft. “I remain deeply committed to strengthening our community.”

Kraft’s workshop is designed to connect community and nonprofit organizations in southwest Washington to potential state-funded capital budget grant resources. Local governments and community organizations will be given information on what types of grants are available and how to apply.

Although the Legislature has not yet fully approved the state’s capital budget, Kraft remains hopeful there will be a capital budget passed during the 2018 session.

“I’m hosting this workshop to assist community leaders with access and guidance on possible resources available through grants funded by the capital budget,” Kraft stated.

Grant managers and key staff members from the Washington State Department of Commerce and Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office will be on hand to provide details on available grants, as well as guidance on the application process. Some of the grants that will be discussed include the Building Communities Fund, Youth Recreational Facilities, Housing Trust Fund, Building for the Arts, and the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program.

“We need to do all we can to promote the good work these organizations do for our residents,” continued Kraft. “I’m looking forward to helping our community leaders get the assistance they need in applying for these grants.”

All attendees are asked to submit a RSVP. For all other questions, or for agenda details, contact Rep. Vicki Kraft’s office at vicki.kraft@leg.wa.gov, or call (360) 786-7994.
