The city of Battle Ground will host a community forum event on Wed., June 12, from 6–7:30 p.m., to share information and gather feedback on the development of the Old Town Sub-Area Plan. The event will be held at the Battle Ground Community Center – Lewis River Room, located at 912 E. Main Street.
What is the “Old Town Sub-Area Plan”?
As a city and community, Battle Ground is growing and expanding. The Old Town Sub-Area Plan will focus on the revitalization of the East Main Street business corridor, between Parkway and Fairgrounds Avenues, to accommodate the growth of the community while celebrating and creating a vibrant future for the historic Old Town District.
The objective of this project is to identify actionable steps and create a detailed plan and implementation strategy specifically focused on the revitalization of “Old Town.” The purpose is to make the downtown section of Battle Ground an inviting and functional space for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
Community Involvement
Community input is essential to the development of a thoughtful and viable plan for Old Town Battle Ground. The city and First Forty Feet will be hosting several outreach events designed to connect with local businesses, property owners, and community members to ensure their voices and visions are included in the plan development process.
Additionally, the city will establish various community stakeholder groups, including a Project Advisory Group, Technical Advisory Group, and a Downtown Business Advisory Group, that will be key in providing guidance and feedback to staff and our consultants throughout the course of the planning project.
