Target Zero reminds our community that safe driving is a team sport
Law enforcement agencies in Southwest Washington are teaming up to add additional DUI patrols for the BIG GAME on Sunday (Feb. 11).
- Participating local agencies include:
- Battle Ground Police Department
- Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency
- Vancouver Police Department
- Washington State Patrol
Each year this event brings friends and families together to celebrate and watch the Big Game. While most adults in Washington do not drive under the influence, over 50% of fatal traffic crashes are due to impaired driving. Governor Jay Inslee reported that 2023 WA traffic deaths rose to levels we have not seen since 1990.
Target Zero reminds our community that safe driving is a team sport. You can MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Trooper Will Finn said, “Planning ahead is an epic touchdown.” Team up and keep our families and friends safe this Sunday. In WA it is our goal to have ZERO people in your household involved in a serious or fatal crash.
Model: Plan a sober ride, or be a designated driver
Discuss: Let friends know you planned a sober ride, and encourage them to also
Advocate: Say something, intervene if someone is about to make an unsafe choice, offer a ride or place to stay
Take action to keep our families and friends safe. If you are driving and see a suspected impaired driver, call 9-1-1. If you or someone you know struggles with substance abuse, there is help: Call 1-800-662-HELP
