Motorcycle collides with deer, passenger killed

The rider on a motorcycle that collided with a deer outside Washougal Sunday morning died Monday. The deceased was identified as Jennifer Doody, a 44-year-old Camas resident.

On Sunday (Aug. 30) at 11:23 a.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies and EMS Personnel were dispatched to the report of a collision between a motorcycle and a deer in the 39200 block of NE Vernon Road in Washougal.

Jason Doody and his wife Jennifer were leading a group of eight motorcycles south on Vernon Road.  Jennifer was a passenger riding with Jason on his motorcycle.  A deer crossed the roadway in front of them, and their motorcycle collided with the deer, killing it.  

The collision caused both Jason and Jennifer to come off the motorcycle.  A motorcycle directly behind them also crashed, injuring its operator.  Jennifer Doody was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.  Jason Doody was also injured but was not transported to the hospital.

The CCSO Traffic Unit was summoned to continue the investigation.  NE Vernon Road is a two-lane winding rural roadway near the Skamania County line.
