
Grants totaling over $44,000 will support local horticultural educational activities in Clark County
The Master Gardener Foundation of Clark County (MGFCC) Board of Directors has approved the 2024 annual grant requests, totaling over $44,000 that will support local horticultural educational activities in Clark County.
MGFCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that dedicates their fundraising efforts to help support the Washington State University (WSU) Extension Master Gardener Program and to promote research-based horticulture practices through hands-on education, demonstration programs and experiences throughout our communities.
Recipients of the 2024 grants include: WSU Clark County Master Gardener Program, which includes several community programs, Clark County Veterans Garden, Fort Vancouver Historic Site Interpretive Garden, WSU Extension Clark County 4-H Restorative Community Services Garden, Heritage Farm Organic Practices Demonstration Field, Heritage Farm Youth and Family Tours ( SNAPEd ), Hazel Dell School & Community Garden, Maplewood Moseley Community Garden , Minnie Stromgren Memorial Gardens, River HomeLink Outdoor Learning Space, Gardening, and St Joseph Catholic Church Garden.
Revenue to support the MGFCC grants is generated primarily from their annual Mother’s Day Weekend Plant Sale which is held at the 78th Street Heritage Farm. The 2024 annual plant sale is scheduled for Fri., May 10 and Sat., May 11 by appointment only and Sun., May 12 will be open to the public without an appointment.
