A suspect was arrested and a pistol stolen from the city of Vancouver was recovered in an incident Tuesday evening in Hazel Dell.

On Tuesday (May 23) at about 7:15 p.m., Clark County Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a disturbance call at the Rolling Creek Apartments. As deputies were approaching the unit involved with the reported physical altercation, a subject emerged with a handgun.  The subject worked the action of the pistol, loading it.  Deputies challenged the subject who ran back inside the unit.

Multiple other deputies and officers from Vancouver Police Department responded to assist in a peaceful surrender. Eventually three people came out of the apartment and were detained, to include the suspect with the pistol.  It was discovered that the suspect with the pistol had been in an altercation with another person who was no longer on scene. The suspect was coming out to confront the other person when he saw the deputies and fled back inside.  The suspect was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The pistol the suspect had was located inside the apartment.  It was discovered the pistol had been stolen from the city of Vancouver and has been recovered.  The suspect was arrested and booked for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
