LA CENTER — Members of the La Center Police Department say “La Center Officer Jerry Lester is hanging up the badge and riding off into the sunset.’’
Lester is retiring, after 24 years of service in law enforcement. Members of the La Center Police Department are inviting area residents to join in the celebration and wish Officer Lester a very happy retirement.
The event will be held Wed., May 10, from 4-6 p.m., at the La Center Community Center, located at 1000 E. 4th Street, La Center.
“Refreshments will be served and stories will be told,’’ offered organizers of the event.
