WSDOT seeks public feedback on construction planning

CAMAS – The public can glimpse the future of two newly designed intersections in eastern Clark County at an open house scheduled for Monday, June 17, at Camas High School. A project to improve mobility and safety for all travelers who use State Route 500 through the curves at the Northeast Robinson Road and Northeast 3rd Street intersections will create a roundabout at each one. People who attend the open house will:

  • Get a first look at the roundabout designs
  • Provide input on how and when users typically use the intersection
  • Share concerns and priorities for access and mobility during construction

Recent growth and development in Camas have increased traffic at these intersections, each of which already has a history of crashes. The Washington State Department of Transportation will build roundabouts to improve mobility for both current traffic and future growth by keeping people moving, reducing congestion and enhancing safety.

Construction of this $2.5 million project, funded by the Highway Safety Improvement Program, will begin in 2025 or 2026.
