After two years the biggest little parade in Hazel Dell is back. The Parade of Bands hits the streets on May 21, and fittingly this years’ theme is “We’re Back in The Saddle, Again.”
Sponsored by the Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek Business Association, the parade features dozens of high school marching bands from across the Northwest. It also hosts small and large floats and equestrian entries.
The parade has been a favorite for adults and kids alike for more than 54 years. It starts at Clark County Fire District 6 (8800 NE Hazel Dell Avenue) at 10 a.m., Sat, May 21.
It is important to note that area roads along the parade route will be closed starting at 10 a.m., which includes Hazel Dell Avenue, NE 63rd street from HDA to Highway 99, and Highway 99 to 78th street — which will also be closed. The parade usually ends shortly after 1 p.m.
For those who would like to be a part of the Parade of Bands there is still time to sign up. You can find registration information by clicking on this link to the HDSCBA website. You can also register in person by May 13 at Clark County Fire District 6 Station 61.
