David R. Cannon suspected in fatal shooting in dispute between neighbors
VANCOUVER — Clark County Sheriff’s Office investigators have identified the deceased suspect in the investigation of an apparent homicide/suicide.
On April 28, at about 12:35 p.m. in the 2800 block of NE 174th Avenue, an ongoing neighbor dispute resulted in an attempted homicide and suicide. There is a served protection order between the suspect and victim, naming the victim as the protected person.
The suspect, identified as 56-year-old David R. Cannon of Vancouver, walked across the roadway and shot the victim while he mowed his lawn. After the suspect shot the victim, he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, according to a release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was deceased at the scene. There are no outstanding involved parties.
