VANCOUVER – People who use Interstate 5, State Route 500 and State Route 14 in Vancouver will need to plan ahead for delays, through the end of the month.

Beginning next week, the Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will begin work to repave sections of northbound I-5 and several on- and off-ramps along area highways, to preserve and extend the useful life of the roadway.

During the ramp closures travelers will need to use an alternate route. As with any highway construction project, travelers must exercise caution in the work zone, and reduce speed to ensure your safety and the safety of highway workers. It’s also the law. Traffic fines are doubled in construction zones. Following warning signs and highway worker instructions benefits all those who share the roadway.
