VANCOUVER – The Clark County Council will hold a public hearing to discuss a resolution that would place a public safety tax on the Aug. 2 primary ballot.
The hearing will be at 10 a.m. Tue., May 3. Council meetings are being held in a hybrid format with both in-person and online attendance as options. Council meetings are held in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin St. Instructions for joining the meeting online are on the county’s website at https://clark.wa.gov/councilors/clark-county-council-meetings.

At their council time meeting on April 27, councilors agreed to schedule the hearing on the resolution that would authorize a sales and use tax of one-tenth of 1 percent to fund law and justice expenses, including but not limited to body worn cameras, staffing for the Sheriff’s Office, and other expenses.
If approved by voters, the county would receive 60 percent of the tax collected and the incorporated cities would receive 40 percent.
