Councilor Eileen Quiring O’Brien has announced her intention to resign on March 1
VANCOUVER – Clark County Council Chair Karen Dill Bowerman is seeking applicants to fill an opening on the council for a representative in District 5. The opening is pending as current District 5 representative Councilor Eileen Quiring O’Brien has announced her intention to retire.
Anyone interested in applying for the open seat must be a registered voter in Clark County and reside within District 5 which primarily covers much of North Clark County. A council district map is available on the county’s website.
If Councilor Quiring O’Brien specifies March 1 as her last day, the effective date for filling the position will be March 2. The term for the open position will end Dec. 31, 2022. The District 5 seat is up for election during the 2022 election cycle.
As chair of the non-partisan council, Bowerman will nominate 3 applicants to be interviewed by the county council. The council then will select one of the nominees to fill the open seat.
Applicants should send a letter of interest and a résumé to Kristin Davidson, County Council Office, PO Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Anyone applying by email should send it to kristin.davidson@clark.wa.gov and include a cc to karen.bowerman@clark.wa.gov.
