Initial reports are the motorcycle was passing cars and did not have any lights on
The operator of a motorcycle involved in a Friday evening accident was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by helicopter with critical injuries.
On Friday (July 21) at about 9:12 p.m. a report was made to 9-1-1 of a motorcycle rider who was involved in a collision with a vehicle on NE Hayes Rd. near the intersection with NE Poplar Ave. in Clark County.
First responders arrived to find an injured motorcycle rider and the driver of the vehicle who had remained at the scene. Initial reports are the motorcycle was passing cars and did not have any lights on. Speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation.
This case is active pending further investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit. NE Hayes Rd. was closed for several hours while detectives conducted their investigation.
