VANCOUVER Following two days of interviews with staff, community leaders and the Board of Directors, the C-TRAN Board took action on Friday to enter contract negotiations with Shawn Donaghy to become the agency’s next executive director/CEO.
Donaghy, 38, is a third-generation transportation executive and currently the chief operating officer for the Fort Worth Transportation Authority in Fort Worth, Texas. In that role, Donaghy oversees fixed route operations, paratransit operations, maintenance, information technology, safety and risk management, security and transit police, service scheduling, vanpool/contract management, and key performance/regulatory metrics.
Prior to that position, Donaghy served as the chief operations officer for the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Donaghy has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University. In 2016, he was named one of Mass Transit’s Top 40-Under-40.
Jeff Hamm, C-TRAN’s current executive director/CEO, will retire at the end of June after more than 10 years leading the agency. Hamm’s tenure at C-TRAN has included numerous notable achievements, including the launch of The Vine, the region’s first bus rapid transit system, in January.
