A good Samaritan intervened, the suspect released the child, and retreated into a newer dark SUV and fled the area
On Sunday (Aug. 18) at about 3:40 p.m., an unidentified male attempted to abduct an 11-year-old child at Lieser Crest Part, located at 7510 Virginia Lane in Vancouver.
A good Samaritan intervened, the suspect released the child, and retreated into a newer dark SUV (possibly a Jeep), and fled the area, traveling north on Fredericksburg Way. The male suspect is unknown to the child.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-8 and about 140 pounds, in either his 20’s or 30’s, with short brown hair. He may have had a short beard with face, hand and possibly stomach tattoos. He was wearing a black hoodie, black basketball shorts with red on the sides and dark shoes.
Patrol officers conducted extensive canvassing of the surrounding areas and missing persons detectives are following up on the incident.
