An adult female dies in house fire Saturday in Vancouver

The occupant was found on the first floor of the home

An adult woman was found deceased Saturday morning in a Vancouver house fire.

At 2:20 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 25) morning, Vancouver Fire Department crews responded to a neighbor-reported house fire at 14808 NE 83rd Street. The first fire unit arrived at the two-story house and found flames blowing out of the first floor front window.

Crews quickly entered the house to extinguish the flame and search for a reported occupant. The occupant, a deceased adult female, was found on the first floor of the home. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. 

One other resident, who was not at home at the time of the fire, was displaced and was receiving assistance from the Red Cross. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s office was on scene investigating the fire. 

A total of 19 firefighters from Vancouver Fire and Clark County Fire District 3 were on scene. No injuries were reported to firefighters.
