AMBOY — Clark County Deputies responded to a residence at 12906 NE Grantham Rd, Amboy, Tue., Nov. 1 on a report of an accidental shooting.
Deputies arrived and discovered Harry Ortega, 63, had accidentally shot himself with a handgun. Ortega had been sitting with his 9mm handgun placed in his front pocket. Ortega went to stand up out of a chair and the handgun slipped out of his pocket and onto the floor. The handgun discharged one round after impacting with the floor.
The round struck Ortega in the left hip and exited through the front of his left leg. Ortega was transported to PeaceHealth Hospital for treatment on a non-life threatening injury.
No criminal charges are being filed.
