The display lit the garden path along PeaceHealth Southwest’s Firstenburg Tower. Throughout the afternoon PeaceHealth caregivers prepared for the event by placing lighted LED candles in bags. A total of 130 bags were illuminated with blue candles, each one honoring the life of a patient who died at PeaceHealth Southwest due to COVID-19. Many caregivers wrote special messages of support on the bags, acknowledging their colleagues for their selfless care for patients throughout the pandemic.

The luminary display was visible from many patient rooms, including from the COVID-19 isolation unit.
