Ten units were damaged in the blaze, displacing at least 25 residents
VANCOUVER — More than 25 residents of a Vancouver apartment complex were displaced this weekend after a fire caused damage at Sunpointe Apartments.
Late Saturday night, the Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) responded to a two-alarm fire in the apartment building at 900 SE Park Crest Drive in Vancouver. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire already showing from the structure. Initial crews moved quickly to evacuate residents and extinguish the blaze.
With a fast response and nearly 33 VFD firefighters on scene, the fire was quickly extinguished at 11:21 p.m. No injuries were reported. The building was saved. Ten apartment units were not habitable due to damage caused by the blaze, displacing at least 25 people.
VFD is working with the Red Cross to find shelter for the residents. The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
