This month’s talk honors the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I
VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Barracks Military Association will present an interactive military history talk on Thu., May 16, hosted by The Historic Trust. The Military History Talks occur monthly, January-June at the George C. Marshall House, 1301 Officers Row, Vancouver, WA on the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
This month’s talk honors the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The featured speaker, Mr. Paul Fanning, a veteran in the fire and disaster services and history college instructor. Mr. Fanning will share family WWI/WWII service research from the Canadian Expeditionary Force and American Expeditionary Force. Photographs, medals and insignia will be presented, as well as a replica WWI ambulance will be on site for viewing.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. to view the ambulance exhibit with the military talk beginning at 6:30 p.m. Catering will be provided by Jimmy John’s.
