A 27-year-old Battle Ground man was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries after colliding with tree early Saturday morning
Speed and alcohol were believed to have been factors in a crash Saturday that resulted in non-life threatening injuries for the 27-year-old Battle Ground man who was behind the wheel of the truck when it collided with a tree.
Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the crash at about 5 a.m. Saturday. The preliminary investigation indicated the full-sized Dodge pickup truck was northbound on NE Gable Avenue and failed to negotiate the curve onto eastbound NE 359th Street.
The truck crossed the westbound lane and struck a tree on the north side of NE 359th Street head on.
The driver, who was not named in a press release, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
In addition to speeding and being under the influence of alcohol, the driver was also reportedly not wearing a seat belt, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The Clark County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind drivers to not drive while intoxicated, reduce speeds and to always wear your seatbelt,” the sheriff’s office said in the press release.
