Road conditions could have been the cause of the accident
WASHOUGAL — Tuesday morning, at 11:08 a.m., Clark County EMS and Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to a three-vehicle head-on collision at milepost 3 on Washougal River Road.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver and sole occupant of one involved vehicle had suffered serious injury. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital via ambulance. The occupants of the other vehicles appear to have suffered minor injuries.
The roadway was closed for investigative purposes and will be until further notice. CCSO will update this as the status changes. CCSO Traffic Detectives are currently on scene.
CCSO officials remind drivers that fresh rainfall after a significant dry spell results in oily and slick pavement and ask that area residents drive with caution. At this time, CCSO officials cannot rule in or out slick roadway as the cause in this collision.
