She has accepted the position of superintendent at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Vancouver, beginning in July 2019
HOCKINSON — Hockinson School District Superintendent Sandra Yager has resigned her position effective July 1, 2019. Her resignation will go before the Board of Directors Wednesday evening at a special meeting.
Yager will complete her 18th year serving the school district, including eight as superintendent. She has also held the positions of Hockinson High School principal, planning principal and consultant.
She has accepted the position of superintendent at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Vancouver, beginning in July 2019, following current Superintendent Bill Gibbons.
“I am very thankful for all the time that I have spent in Hockinson, as a principal as well as a superintendent and am humbled to have had the opportunity to serve our students and our community,” Yager said. “I have great confidence in the district as it moves forward and will continue to applaud its progress and future accomplishments.”
The board will manage the search for the district’s next superintendent and will provide more information about the process in the near future.
“We as a board appreciate Sandra’s energetic commitment and service to Hockinson, and are thankful that we have eight months to conduct a search to find Hockinson’s next superintendent,” said Kathy Nordberg, board chairwoman. “Our goal is to find a leader who understands the culture, strengths and needs of Hockinson School District and our community.”
