HOCKINSON — Hockinson School District is seeking feedback from the local community about how to best address the educational and assessment needs of students in the face of current and future technology-related shortfalls.
The district will host a pair of 90-minute technology forums inside the Hockinson High School Library on Wed., Feb. 12 and Thu., Feb. 20. Both forums will begin at 6 p.m. and are open to the general public.
At issue is the state of the district’s instructional technology, which is rapidly losing functionality due to age and a lack of firmware support from software providers.
The upcoming forums will provide opportunities for attendees to share their perceptions of district resources, learn how technology plays a role in 21st Century education, and weigh in on potential options for moving forward.
“Our goal is to engage in a conversation with the community about the very real challenges we face, and to do it in a way that’s transparent and open,” said Hockinson School District Superintendent Steve Marshall. “We’re looking forward to discussing how we, as a district, got here, and where we go from this point forward.”
Hockinson High School is located at 16819 NE 159th Street in Brush Prairie.
