Commemorative bricks are engraved with the veteran’s name, branch of service, and dates of service
BATTLE GROUND — Those who would like to honor and recognize a U.S. veteran with a commemorative brick to be installed at the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial will want to be aware of an approaching deadline. Bricks must be ordered no later than March 1 to be installed by Memorial Day of this year.
Commemorative bricks are engraved with the veteran’s name, branch of service, and dates of service. They are an enduring gift to honor the service of a family member or loved one. Bricks are engraved and installed annually in time for the city’s Memorial Day ceremony.
The cost of an engraved and installed brick is $250. Proceeds support the ongoing maintenance of the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial. The memorial, located in Battle Ground’s Kiwanis Park, was fully funded and constructed by donations — evidence of the community’s commitment to recognizing those who serve. The names of 31 honored veterans, local servicemen who died in service, are engraved on the memorial’s wall.
