VANCOUVER — Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM) is joining the efforts to contain the COVID-19 virus and keep the community safe. Although it is not required at this time, the CCHM is following health professionals’ advice to act with an abundance of caution and temporarily closing its doors to the public beginning on Tue., March 16 through the end of the month. Museum officials have also canceled or postponed all public programs and school tours for March.
“History has shown us that during uncertain times, a community that works in unity and with compassion, comes out the other end stronger and more resilient,” said CCHM Executive Director Brad Richardson, “As an organization who is dedicated to the service of our community, we believe that temporarily closing is the least we can do to ensure the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and the public. It is our hope that small acts like these will help quicken our return to normalcy and reduce the further spread of this virus.”
While the museum will remain closed to the public, staff will still be accessible in a limited capacity via email or phone during the closure. CCHM leadership encourages staff and volunteers to prioritize their own health and safety by following all state and local health department recommendations.
