Training exercise will take place Sat., June 30 in Ridgefield
RIDGEFIELD — Clark County Fire & Rescue will conduct a live fire training burn this Sat., June 30 at 2127 N 3rd Way in Ridgefield.
The nearly 3000 square foot early 1990’s house was acquired from a local developer. The district uses structures like this to provide realistic training for its firefighters to bolster their experience and education and to meet a state mandate requiring live fire training once every three years.
Approximately 25 career, volunteer and intern firefighters will be rotating through different sections of the house learning about fire behavior, extinguishment, search and rescue, and ventilation of the structure.
Notice was given to residences in the area that may be affected by the large presence of fire apparatus and smoke in the area. The public is invited to stop by and observe the training exercise.
