VANCOUVER — Clark College President Robert K. Knight will deliver the annual State of the College address on Thu., Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. in Gaiser Student Center.

During his speech, President Knight will address how the college has grown in the past year to better meet the needs of students and the community. Among the things he will highlight are the college’s successful relaunch of the culinary and baking programs and their move into the newly opened Tod and Maxine McClaskey Culinary Institute. President Knight will also discuss the growth of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management degree program and other instructional programs.

Looking ahead, President Knight plans to talk to the community about the college’s need for the Washington State Legislature to pass the stalled capital budget. This budget not only includes money for Clark College’s new building at the Clark College at Boschma Farms location in Ridgefield but also includes critical dollars for minor repairs and improvements.

Addressing ongoing enrollment concerns at the college, Knight will explain how the college was recently selected as an American Association of Community College (AACC) Pathways 2.0 College, which will give the college the opportunity to work on connections and structures that are proven to help students complete their education. This Guided Pathways framework is a national model.

The State of the College address, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 11 a.m. in Gaiser Student Center on the college’s main campus. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Clark College is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, Wash.
