VANCOUVER — In consultation with and guidance from Clark County Public Health and Community Services, the city of Vancouver will close the Navigation Center (2018 Grand Boulevard) at 5 p.m. on March 18, until further notice.
At this time, there are no known cases of COVID-19 at the Navigation Center. The decision to close the facility was made after determining that continued operation of the Navigation Center would not be compatible with Public Health objectives to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 or with Gov. Jay Inslee’s emergency order closing public venues.
On Feb. 1, the city took over management of the facility on an interim basis while searching for a permanent operator. The Navigation Center’s interim operational model cannot sustain the sanitization procedures, social distancing guidelines and staff safety and availability levels required during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
The city is working to identify alternative solutions to provide access to restroom facilities in public spaces. More information on those plans will be shared soon as it is available.
