VANCOUVER — The city of Vancouver is accepting lodging tax grant applications for projects or events that will increase tourism to the city.
Lodging tax grants are available to nonprofit and tourism-related organizations for projects, events or activities that increase overnight or day-trip visits to the city, or that help increase tourism-related revenues. The grants are funded through a four percent lodging tax charged on hotel, motel and bed and breakfast stays within the city of Vancouver.
Online applications must be submitted to the city by 3:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 18. To apply for a grant or to learn more, visit www.cityofvancouver.us/LodgingTaxGrants.
An optional grant overview and orientation meeting for those interested in applying will occur at 3:30 p.m. Thu., Aug. 29 at the Aspen Meeting Room, Vancouver City Hall, 415 W. Sixth St. The orientation will include training on how to use the city’s new grant application software, Foundant Technologies.
Earlier this year, Vancouver City Council awarded more than $500,000 in lodging tax grants to a variety of projects, including Clark County Open Studios Tour, Cruise the Couve, Fourth Plain Forward’s multicultural festival, Vancouver Farmers Market, Visit Vancouver USA and more.
