The program is designed to facilitate the resolution of pending court cases
BATTLE GROUND — The Battle Ground Municipal Court is offering a Warrant Amnesty Program for a two-week period in June to individuals with outstanding bench warrants. The program is designed to facilitate the resolution of pending court cases.
The Court hears and processes misdemeanor-level criminal cases. When a defendant fails to appear in court for a hearing, a bench warrant is issued for their arrest. If the charges are driving related, the defendant’s driver’s license may also be suspended.
To cancel a bench warrant, the defendant must appear in court, and must also pay a $100 warrant cancellation fee. The Warrant Amnesty Program waives the $100 fee, providing the defendant an opportunity to resolve their case and, if driving related, the potential of having their driver’s license reinstated.
The program is available for a limited time only from June 1 through June 15, 2021. To participate, individuals with outstanding bench warrants should contact the Battle Ground Municipal Court at (360) 342-5150. A date will be scheduled for the individual to appear in court – a first step to get back on track and proceed to a resolution of the case.
The Battle Ground Municipal Court serves the cities of Battle Ground, La Center and Ridgefield.
