Six homes being built by five builders for this year’s showcase
The Parade of Homes is returning to Ridgefield, and it is GRO-ing, too.
GRO Outdoor Living, a landscape design company, is the new title sponsor.
The GRO Parade of Homes, presented by HomeStreet Bank, will be held in September in Ridgefield.
Organizers, builders, and members of the Building Industry Association of Clark County gathered Tuesday morning for a “Site Reveal.” It was not a traditional groundbreaking event because the six homes are already being built.
In fact, as guest speakers welcomed everyone to the site reveal, the noise of construction could be heard in the background as home builders work to turn these dream homes into a reality.
“The city of Ridgefield is so excited to have the Parade of Homes back,” said Rob Aichele, mayor pro tem. “To have quality and craftsmanship that we see here in these homes going up is wonderful. … A big welcome. We look forward to watching these homes go up and inviting the new citizens who are going to move into them into our wonderful city.”
It has been 12 years since the Parade of Homes has been in Ridgefield. Last year, the event was in Felida.
“We’re excited to be back in Ridgefield,” said Avaly Scarpelli, the executive director of the BIA, which produces the Parade of Homes. “The community has always welcomed the Parade with open arms. A lot of that has to do with their growth mentality here and wanting to showcase the community. This is a community that is growing up, and we’re happy to be part of that.”
In all, six new homes are being built by five builders.
Niall Glavin of Glavin Homes submitted the bid to host the Parade of Homes. His company is building two houses. He said he loves having it in his hometown.
“I’ve been part of Parade of Homes a couple different times,” Glavin said. “It’s a fun thing to do. You get to showcase beautiful product to thousands of people who come through. It’s just an exciting experience.”
The other builders for this year’s showcase are: Affinity Homes, Cascade West Development, Genesis Homes, and Rivercrest Construction. It is the first appearance in the Parade of Homes for Genesis and Rivercrest.
Garret Hergert, the CEO of GRO, was proud to say his family has lived in Ridgefield for five generations.
“The Parade of Homes is filled with some of the best builders in Clark County,” Hergert said. “Being able to be part of the show, showcasing their work and our work, we want to be able to show potential clients and the community what the Clark County building industry has to offer.”
This year’s Parade of Homes will be held Sept. 9-25. More details will be announced as those dates draw near.
“With a variety of architectural designs, gorgeous interior styles, and, of course, the best in outdoor living, this year’s GRO Parade of Homes show will be a showstopper,” Scarpelli said.
