The Ambassador Team, GVCC’s volunteers from their membership, are recognized each year for their work supporting the Chamber in the community
VANCOUVER — The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) honors two Ambassador Volunteers who will be recognized at the Holiday Heroes Luncheon on December 6, 2019. Along with thanking the entire Ambassador Team, the Ambassador of the Year and the Rookie of the Year will be highlighted.
The Ambassador Team, GVCC’s volunteers from their membership, are recognized each year for their work supporting the Chamber in the community. Nominations came from fellow Ambassadors and Chamber staff. This year the Ambassador of the Year will be awarded to Yvonne Payne, professional pianist and owner of Ebony Notes. The Rookie of the Year will be awarded to Marcy Sprecher, executive director of Rocksolid Community Teen Center.
Yvonne Payne has been a dedicated Chamber Ambassador since 2016 and a Chamber member for almost two decades. As a professional pianist and teacher for over 30 years, Payne connects with many of our members by sharing her love of music. Throughout her service to the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Payne has been a reliable volunteer who goes above what is asked of her during events and activities.
Marcy Sprecher is the executive director of Rocksolid Community Teen Center in Battle Ground. Since joining the “North County” Ambassador Team, Sprecher has led the way encouraging engagement and connection-making for members and future members in Battle Ground. Serving the community by working directly with the youth in the community is why Sprecher is passionate about her role in SW Washington.
Both Sprecher and Payne will be recognized for their volunteerism on Fri., Dec. 6, at GVCC’s Holiday Heroes Luncheon at Warehouse ’23 presented by Chick-fil-A Cascade Park. During this event, the Chamber’s Nonprofit of the Year, Office Moms & Dads, will also be highlighted. Office Moms & Dads will be accepting donations for their organization at the event, encouraging attendees to bring new children’s clothing such as winter jackets, socks, and long sleeves or sensory development toys (for instance PlayAbility toys) that will provide children at Office Moms & Dads with new resources.
Guests of the event will enjoy seasonal music, photos with Santa, raffle prizes, and delicious treats. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the program beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sponsorships and raffle-donations are available to members interested in being a part of this sell-out event.
