Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIA) announced the recipients of its 2023 Home Show Awards. Throughout 2023, the BIA hosted three home shows including the GRO Parade of Homes, Columbia Credit Union Remodeled Homes Tour, and the New Homes Tour.

During each home show, attendees and industry professionals were invited to vote on the projects. The outcomes of the polling determined the winners of the BIA’s Industry Awards and People’s Choice Awards.

“Each year, BIA members undertake major projects on tight timelines to bring the community examples of development and design excellence,” said Caleb Blanton, BIA president and construction manager at New Traditions Homes. “Our association acknowledges the hard work and innovation that each project represents by presenting the developers, designers, remodelers, and builders with awards.”

BIA’s 2023 home shows began in May with the Columbia Credit Union Remodeled Homes Tour followed by the New Homes Tour in June. Then as has become a Clark County tradition since the 1970s, the BIA hosted the 45th occurrence of its flagship home show, the Parade of Homes. In recent years, the Parade of Homes has been branded as the GRO Parade of Homes, named for the event’s title sponsor, GRO, Vancouver’s premier landscape company. This year the GRO Parade of Homes was located in the Ashbury neighborhood of Felida and welcomed visitors throughout a 3-week period from Sept. 8-24.

This year’s GRO Parade of Homes Industry Awards’ big winner was a Kingston Homes project titled Vivid. This home won Best Kitchen, Best Primary Suite, Best Entertainment Room, Best Landscape, Best Interior Decorating, Best Architecture, Best Floor Plan, Best Outdoor Living Space, and Best of Show.

The accolades for Vivid continued with the People’s Choice Awards as it won Best of Show and six other categories. For the People’s Choice Awards, Kingston Homes shared the stage with The Sana by Marnella Homes walking away with Best Kitchen and the Terra Vista by Cascade West Development taking the award for Best Architecture.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to excellence. This was Kingston’s first time participating in the GRO Parade of Homes and we really set our sights on knocking it out of the park,” stated Erin Wriston, chief executive officer of Kingston Homes. “It was a full team effort and we are thrilled and proud that our hard work paid off.”

For the Columbia Credit Union Remodeled Homes Tour, A.C.T. Builders won Best Kitchen, Sherer Enterprises took Favorite Transformation, and the Favorite Project went to NW Kitchen Design. New Homes Tour entry the Si Ellen by Kingston Homes took Best of Show, Best Kitchen, and Most Livable Floor Plan.

“Every year thousands of community members turn out to take in these masterful projects,” said Bart Hansen, BIA executive officer. “Our home shows truly showcase the expert craftsmanship and innovation of our industry. Each year brings something new so don’t miss our 2024 shows.”
